4. Individuals in this prison position are required to be properly trained in defensive tactics, first responder, and physical restraint. The professionals must also be trained on the use of particular weapons that are carried during the course of their shift. All prison wardens must display the ability to properly restrain individuals when the need arises and maintain peace within a large group in a short amount of time.
5. This career involves the ability to properly search inmates and those that desire to visit with the inmates. Furthermore, it involves the responsibility of preventing the induction of various types of contraband within the prison facility.
6. The prison warden is responsible for identifying signs that disorder or high tension levels may be experienced within the facility. In addition to this, if these activities are discovered, it is the responsibility of the professional to eliminate the disorder and/or tension levels.
7. Wardens must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written. It is often necessary to report activities that occur within the facility to both authority figures in superior standing and through the means of written or typed reports. These reports must be clear and concise.
